Part 1: Design Project Allen Way

Welcome to a journal of the BEFORE story: Swank Design Project Allen Way.

With design, it is important to take a look at the roots of a project; where it started and where it came from. Often we see glowing polished after pictures of a home and think, "I love this, but my house will never be able to look like that!"

It might be hard to imagine how to dress or undress the bones of a home and space, but this is where Swank Design steps in to ease the burden. We help create your treasured dream space, even when it seems impossible.

(Before Living Room)

The story of the Allen Way Project began with a young vibrant physician couple. These clients decided to move to California at the beginning of the pandemic and purchased a 1970's home. The dark paneling and lighting that was a little past its prime, did not match the California modern brightness this couple wanted to achieve.

With the uncertainty of the pandemic and this couples' busy schedules, they called in Swank Design to give their new home a complete makeover. We said yes to the challenge.

(Before Dining Room)

What made this project extremely fun was the complete trust in Raelena Vasquez of Swank Design with full creative process. After an initial meeting in person, the rest of the planning was done over zoom meetings and phone calls until the grand reveal.

The client wanted things to be easy for them and Swank Design did just that. We believe in effortless style and timeless finishes and this client was on board!

Openess, brightness, modern yet functional, with touches of glam was the goal. White with splashes of refined color would come into this space, as well as construction to open the dining and living rooms.

(Before Master Bathroom)

Bathroom updates were desperately needed. Ordained with dark colors and dated fixtures the guest and master bathrooms would require complete transformations.  Simple lines with touches of gold would be coming to both bathroom remodels.

(Before Kitchen)

A facelift of new countertops, flooring, backsplashes and lighting were in order for this monotone kitchen.

(Before Master Bedroom)

Fresh paint and contemporary furnishings throughout were in order. Swank Design went to work to create the California dream home for this couple...

Are you ready to fall in love with the transformation?

Stay Tuned for Part 2: Design Project Allen Way.
